Be the BEST You Can Be!

be your best

You know we spend so much time fretting over silly things. We worry about the fleeting and the superfluous instead of focusing on and investing in the most important asset that we have, and that would be ourselves. Whether we are blogging, working, playing, or nurturing relationships with others, we want to be the best that we can. Let’s take a look at four critical aspects in being our best!

Stop comparing yourself to others

I would like to clarify a point. There is a big difference between the word your and the. I think it’s important to strive to be your best, not necessarily the best. Here’s a little secret. There is always going to be someone or something better than you. Even if you do attain the title of the best, whether it be the best sports athlete, the best actor, the best musician, the best worker, the best programmer, or the best blogger, the reality is time at the top is usually short lived. Why hold yourself to that standard? You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. The question becomes, are you doing everything in your power to be the best that you can be every day? If you are confident in your efforts to do and be your best, you will have better esteem for yourself and will be treated better by others.

Take Time For Yourself

These days we are all busier than ever whether it’s racing down the highway to get to work on time, making time to meet all of our deadlines, spending time with family and friends, taking care of our Elders and Children, or taking classes to improve our education. Not to mention the constant buzz of TVs, iPhones, iPads, laptops, tablets, radios, and every other kind of electronic gadget. It’s enough to make you insane. This is why it is so vitally important to make some time for yourself. Take some time where you can sit back and reflect on what makes you happy and how to get centered again. Recharging your batteries in this way will do wonders for your energy levels, put you in a better mood, and give you that inspiration and creativity that power your achievements.

Lead an Active Lifestyle

Many of us may work in an office, where we spend a lot of time sitting behind a desk. In fact you might be at a desk for 8 to 10 hours straight. Friends, this isn’t good for you. Your body is collapsing in on itself by doing nothing but sitting. So take time throughout the day, to get up, go for a walk or run, and get your blood pumping again. Not only will this reduce the risks to your health by sitting still for so long, but your mood will greatly improve as well.

These are just a few of the things that I like to do, to keep myself in the right frame of mind and to help me be the best that I can be. I hope you are doing everything you can to be the very best that you can be!
